Alberta Basic Security Training, or ABST, is a mandatory requirement for individuals who wish to work in the security sector. In order to obtain a security licence, individuals must successfully complete the ABST course and write a provincial exam. At Intercept Security Services, we offer several security guard training programs, including the ABST training course in Calgary.

Alberta Basic Security Training (ABST) Registration

The course includes approximately 40 hours of classroom instruction with classes on the weekends and the provincial exam on the last day. Participants receive a course manual and access to video-based exercises, discussions and demonstrations of various tactics, as well as a practice exam. The fee for the program, including the provincial exam, is $220/person plus GST. The course will be held in our Calgary location.

The ABST course will be conducted through Zoom video conference. The ABST exam will be conducted at our office classroom.
